A new Android-based tablet PC has just started its journey to end-users hands, the Notion Ink Adam, though it arrives a few weeks later than originally expected.

Notion Ink announced initially that it would start shipping the Adam tablet during the first week of January, but it was forced to delay the shipments in the United States and European countries.

The tablet PC did not receive the necessary FCC and EC approvals, and the company had to push the launch day a little.

However, today is the lucky day for those who have been eagerly waiting for Notion Ink to start sending out Adam units to their homes.

The company announced on a blog post on Saturday that it would be able to start shipping the device today, and reconfirmed the move on Tuesday.

They also published a series of photos with the assembly line for Adam, and made another intersting announcement regarding the status of pre-ordered Adam tablets.

Apparently, Notion Ink is focused on delivering all of the ordered devices sooner than originally expected, thus shipping the Adam units that were initially set for a February release in January.

“We are trying to pre-pone ALL of the February shipments! So if your status read February, it should be changed to the last week of January,” the company's Rohan Shravan notes in the aforementioned blog post.

“February was suggested to you all because we were not sure of how the FCC will work out (based on which we need to decide on the procurements), and added buffers while giving you the time lines.”

In other words, only good news for those who would like to get a taste of the Android-based tablet PC.

Previously, the company also announced that it would plan on kicking off new pre-orders for the device, so that more people would have the opportunity to purchase the device.
