Notion Ink is getting closer to the release of its highly appealing Android-based Adam tablet PC, and the company has just unveiled some more info on the upcoming device, including details on the applications that will be available with the device.

According to the company, its users will be able to enjoy a number of over 20 custom applications, more, than what rival solutions came to shelves with.

A recent post on the company's blog unveils the fact that Adam will come to shelves with a special weather app, which would also act like a screensaver, and which sports a series of appealing animations.

Moreover, it seems that Notion Ink Adam's users will have to possibility to enjoy a nice range of other apps and features as well, including email, calendar, office, browser, and more, all of which should go along pretty nicely with the Eden UI on the device.

“Total more than 20 customized applications are coming your way. Not the stretched mobile apps, but custom-made for your Adam! One for each occasion, crafted with a lot of effort and patience,” the said blog post reads.

“Email, Calendar, Office, Paint, Gallery, Settings, File Browser are some of the very special ones to mention here, along with the whole Panel System. For the Panel system there is an OPEN GL Engine which extracts the juice out of Tegra and delivers in beautiful and smooth animations.”

All apps should fit pretty well with the slate's 10-inch touchscreen. The UI comes with paned “mini” windows (three of them to fit the screen), as well as with full-screen versions of each application.

In addition to detailing these apps, the company also offered some info on the internal circuitry of the device, complemented with some photos that show these internal components.

Moreover, Notion Ink announced the launch of a second round of their early-access program, so as to offer more developers the possibility to come up with apps for the Android slate.

“In the EAP 2 we have around 46 countries! EAP was multi pronged test for us,” the company notes.

“Production Validation, Logistics (handling shipments, etc. for so many countries), test of the support system, work on the feedback before it reaches masses (ones which we can quickly fix) and sending out messages to all that we have arrived! (Interestingly India is missing from the EAP 1, but has its presence all over the EAP 2 selections).”

Previously, the company announced that it plans on making the slate available for pre-order in December.
