The Notion Ink Adam tablet PC, an Android-based device that caught a lot of attention the past several months, was supposed to ship on Monday, January 10th, 2011, but got delayed.

Apparently, the company did not manage to receive all the necessary approvals from FCC and CE, and the tablet PC is on hold until further notice.

In other words, there's no telling on how soon the Android-based device would start arriving in user's hands, as the company cannot provide such info at the moment.

However, since they missed the expected shipping date for the highly appealing device, Notion Ink was kind enough to inform users on the situation.

Here's what the company told those who already pre-ordered the Adam tablet:

This e-mail is to inform you that your shipment is ready, but we are awaiting final FCC and CE numbers which are to be printed on the device before we can ship them to you. The Holiday season in December pushed the administrative work and it will be cleared within this week.

We request your kind patience and cooperation till we inform you of your shipment.

As you may already know, the Notion Ink Adam was recently demonstrated to a lot of people at CES 2011, and the Adam was appreciated greatly and loved by everyone.

We really appreciate your continued support and effort that you have infused into creating the Notion Ink Community.

As stated above, no specific info on when the tablet PC would start shipping emerged for the time being, though it might all be cleared up as soon as this week, Phandroid notes in a recent article.

Considering the large number of tablet PCs announced last week during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Notion Ink should do all they can to make the Adam tablet PC available for purchase in the nearest time possible.
