Not a joke!

If you are not too keen on reading the encyclopedia that Microsoft dares to call the manual for Windows Live Messenger then fear not because there is a variable alternative! Also from the Redmond company, now you can watch the movie about all the functionality, capabilities and features included in Microsoft's instant messaging client. It looks like the Windows Live Messenger team had some time to waste, it's not like they're supposed to be hard at work on the beta for 8.5 or anything and thought they'd put together an instructive video related to the instant messaging client.

"Instruction manuals give you an overview of what a new software application can do, but why do they have to be so boring! The Messenger team has put together an awesome introductory video for Windows Live Messenger. This video is SO much better than an instruction manual! The onscreen guide walks you through many of the features of Messenger to give new and long-time Messenger users insight into what Messenger can do. Don't let some stranger tell you about cool Messenger features, find out for yourself with the video!" revealed a Product Manager for Windows Live Messenger.

Right... in all fairness there is no manual to Windows Live Messenger. But you can access the video that the Messenger team authored via this link. It's nothing much! I'm just preparing you to be disappointed. It is only introductory, showcasing the most basic of features. I'm surprised it didn't go something like this: you can actually click inside the message area and using your keyboard, that's right (!) your keyboard, you will be able to write any text you desire and press enter in order to send it to your friends! Because that's what Microsoft is doing with Windows Live Messenger, revolutionizing instant messaging communications!

The Redmond company is boasting in excess of 280 million Windows Live Messenger users worldwide. You'd think that a healthy amount might be actually waiting for the final version of Windows Live Messenger 8.5 to come out of development, and not for rudimentary online videos. Well, in the meantime you can download Windows Live Messenger 8.5 Beta designed with Windows Vista in mind right here.
