Nosgoth, the multiplayer-only third-person action game from Psyonix and Square Enix, is getting into the Halloween spirit this week with a special event called Devil's Night, which includes customized items, limited time microtransactions, and an update filled with fresh features.

Nosgoth surprised quite a few people when it was revealed to the world as a competitive online experience set in the rich Legacy of Kain universe, pitting against each other a team of humans and one composed of vampires in a battle for supremacy across all sorts of maps.

The game is currently available as part of a beta on the PC platform and has sparked some pretty positive reception from players who enjoy the varied powers wielded by both the humans and the vampires.

Halloween is bringing spooky items to Nosgoth

Of course, seeing as how Halloween is coming later this week, Nosgoth is getting into the spooky spirit and has just received an update via the official website.

The patch brings forth the Devil's Night in-game event, which ends on November 2 and offers exclusive items and rewards, including special Ghostly attributes for the gear that drops at the end of a match.

"As part of the end-of-game reward system, during Devil’s Night only, all Mysterious Items which drop will have a new Ghostly visual and audio effect to be unlocked, along with the stat modifiers you'd normally expect on these drops," the studio explains.

"It will apply to all Mysterious Item drops, for all Human Weapons and Vampire Special Abilities, and the drops are randomly generated. Once the event ends, it won't be possible to unlock these exclusive items, making you the envy of all your friends."

Special microtransactions are also available, in the form of Devil's Night versions of all the Human weapons and Vampire abilities, not to mention special banners that mark Devil's Night and can be admired by others in the player profile.

Private matches are also included in the patch

The patch also includes the option to form private matches in Nosgoth, which are hosted on the developer's dedicated servers and offer different options to customize the experience. Bear in mind that playing in such matches won't reward people with XP or gold.

What's more, the so-called Noscam feature is also available, allowing players to review recent matches and either save replays or archive them for later.

The Devil's Night event for Nosgoth is already available, so you might want to join the multiplayer action sooner rather than later.
