Norton Studio, one of the security apps available on Windows 8, received a new update today, and Symantec recommends all users who had previously installed it to get the fresh build from the store as soon as possible.

The parent company hasn’t provided too many details about this new version of Norton Studio, but it did mention that bug fixes and performance improvements are part of the package, so expect this fresh build to be a bit more stable and reliable on all computers running Windows 8.1.

As you might now, Norton Studio is only available on x86 and x64 Windows 8.1 devices, as the application serves as a central location to manage installed Symantec security products.

Since no security app has until now been released on Windows RT tablets, the program lacks compatibility with this particular platform, so it only works on PCs and tablets running the full version of Windows 8.1.

Otherwise, the feature lineup is basically the same as before, with options to resubscribe expired systems, check the Global Threat level, explore and view other Norton products and view a snapshot of what has recently happened on your Norton-protected computer.

Overall, this update clearly comes in handy to everyone running Symantec security products, so download Norton Studio for Windows 8.1 right now to see what’s new.
