North Korea’s KCNA news agency has published an article accusing the United States and its allies, particularly South Korea, of launching cyberattacks against the country’s systems.

The report comes after several major North Korea websites have been disrupted by cyberattacks.

“Intensive and persistent virus attacks are being made every day on internet servers operated by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK). These cannot be construed otherwise than despicable and base acts of the hostile forces consternated by the toughest measures taken by the DPRK after launching an all-out action,” the report reads.

The news agency also claims the government is well aware of the attempts by the “puppet regime” of South Korea and the US to boost their cyber capabilities to sabotage the DRPK.

“The DPRK will never remain a passive onlooker to the enemies' cyber attacks that have reached a very grave phase as part of their moves to stifle it,” the article continued.

“They are seriously mistaken if they think they can quell the DPRK's voices of justice through such base acts.”
