Live threat intelligence solutions provider Norse has released Norse IPViking 2.0. The latest version of the cloud-based solution is capable of providing visibility into the darkest corners of the Web.

According to the company, Norse IPViking 2.0 is able to detect malware in its development phase, before cybercriminals put it to work. In addition, threats can also be detected while they’re in the zero-day phase.

Furthermore, the solution can identify a wide range of machines that attempt to connect to networks through malicious IP addresses. The devices that IPViking is capable of identifying include mobile and desktop devices, servers, appliances and even satellites in space.

When they’re detected, these high-risk devices are classified into categories such as consumer, education, corporate or government.

These capabilities enable organizations to reduce the risks of falling victim to data breaches and compromises. They also allow them to quickly identify compliance violations. It’s worth noting that the new threat intelligence features are fully automated.

“The Internet is the most widely used business communications and transaction platform and at the same time, the most dangerous. There is no real way to remain protected against attacks and exploits without visibility into what the bad actors are doing and planning,” said Norse CEO Sam Glines.

“IPViking 2.0 delivers the most comprehensive threat intelligence available today and true early warning that enables enterprises and government agencies to detect threats and take action before they inflict financial and reputation damage.”

On Thursday, Norse announced that it received $10 million (€7.6 million) in Series A funding from Oak Investment Partners. The company says it plans on using the money to expand and strengthen in areas such as engineering, product development, and sales and marketing.
