In Germany

Shortly after announcing a collaboration with Sony Ericsson, in order to release its JS1 Controller with the W760 slider in the Netherlands, the US-based Zeemote also made a deal with Nokia.

The agreement will result in select Nokia phones being sold together with the JS1 in Germany. Moreover, the Finnish giant will advertise Zeemote's Controller across the German media.

In case you don't know what the JS1 is, we'll tell you. It's a gaming controller that allows mobile users to have a gaming experience similar to the console or desktop PC ones. The JS1 features "four assignable trigger buttons" and can be paired via Bluetooth with a wide range of devices.

There are no details yet about which Nokia handsets are to be offered in bundle packages with the JS1, but it's very likely that only mid to high-end phones will come with the game controller. The upcoming N96, for example, is suitable for mobile gaming (due to its accelerometer and its 16 million colors TFT display), and the JS1 can make it even better.

Talking about the deal with Nokia, Jim Adams, Vice President of Worldwide Sales at Zeemote, declared, "With the world's gaming eyes on The Games Convention at Leipzig it was a natural and perfect venue for us to announce our cooperation with Nokia in Germany. This and other announcements we have planned have the potential to extend and unlock the creativity of game and application development to a new level".

Sven Morawek, Business Manager Games, Services & Software, GTM, Nokia, added, "The cooperation with Zeemote shows that Nokia is serious about casual gaming - we invest in hardware and software to bring consumers a whole new mobile gaming experience".

Users interested in seeing the Zeemote Controller in action can view the video below, where the JS1 is successfully paired with a Sony Ericsson W760, a Nokia N95 and (apparently) a Samsung Instinct. Enjoy:
