Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia appears set to join the battle on the tablet PC market with a Windows RT-based tablet PC, and allegedly leaked photos with the device are now available for your viewing pleasure.

The slate was spotted all dressed up in Red in photos that emerged over at Digi-Wo (Weibo), and appears set to unveil an interesting fact about it, namely that it will be released on Verizon’s network in the United States.

Previously, the device was rumored to arrive on shelves in the country exclusively through AT&T, but it appears that things might actually turn out differently.

The available leaked images with the tablet PC clearly show Verizon’s logo on the back of the device, paired with the 4G LTE logo for the wireless carrier’s network.

As PhoneArena notes, Nokia might launch the upcoming slate in multiple color flavors, the same as it did with its Windows Phone handsets, and might also decide to release a WiFi-only variant as well, to complement the LTE-enabled one.

Nokia hasn’t provided specific details on the upcoming product as of now, but previous rumors on the matter have already unveiled some of the hardware specifications it might land on shelves with.

Thus, the slate is said to pack a 10-inch full HD screen, a Snapdragon 800 processor inside, and 32GB of internal memory. It might also include a USB 3.0 port.

Chances are that Nokia will have the device launched on multiple networks at the same time, to ensure expanded availability, though it remains to be seen when exactly that would happen.

Previous speculation suggested that the Finnish handset vendor was aiming at making the Windows RT tablet official on September 26, but nothing has been confirmed on this for the time being.

In fact, the slate is still only a rumored product for the time being, and we should take the info above with a grain of salt until proved real. Stay tuned for more on the matter.
