Nokia Play To, the DLNA application that was initially launched on Symbian and then ported to Windows Phone 7, will become available for download for Windows Phone 8-based Nokia Lumia devices next year.

The team behind the app has confirmed in a post on Nokia Beta Labs that the app would be ready for Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 devices in the first quarter of 2013, but did not offer a specific release date for it.

“ETA for the availability of PlayTo for Nokia WP8 devices is 1Q 2013. We are working hard to make it available ASAP, but we do have dependencies to underlying DLNA services which can only be delivered with updated firmware,” Eero Penttinen, lead program manager, says.

At the moment, the development team is working on making the app available for beta testing, and will offer more info on the matter soon.
