Leading mobile rich media-advertising network Greystripe announced on Tuesday support for Nokia's Ovi Store, this being the first time when the company announces support for the applications portal. According to Greystripe, it plans on migrating its 1,200 Gamejump.com Java titles into Nokia's store front, a move that marks support for three main mobile operating systems and their related software solutions portals, including the Apple App Store, the Android Market and the Ovi Store.

According to the company, it currently offers support for a number of around 1,400 Java handset models, not to mention mobile phones that run under Android or Apple's iPhone. Greystripe says that it aims at expanding its Java/Symbian app downloads, which already rise up to around 250,000 downloads each day. Moreover, the company also notes that brands which want to reach a wider audience via advertising have now the possibility to do so, considering the fact that the Symbian platform is still the most popular mobile operating system all around the world.

“We are excited to be able to offer the most complete set of mobile in-app ad platforms to our brand advertisers. This announcement reinforces one of our main objectives as a network, to reach the broadest audience possible, in addition to our iPhone and Android users,” Michael Chang, CEO for Greystripe stated. “Greystripe's advertising solution makes it super easy for us to ad enable fully completed and ported mobile apps and then load them into Ovi for broad distribution,” Dmitriy Surchenov, business development manager at United Fun Traders Ltd., developer of Farm Frenzy, added.

Nokia's Ovi Store, as many of you might already know, is a place where the owners of a Nokia mobile phone can find a great deal of applications, games and other solutions available for download for them. The software solutions portal is currently available via a large number of Nokia handsets currently on the market, and the latest statistics from the Finnish mobile phone maker show that its popularity is increasing among users, with more than 1 million downloads being performed each day since the end of the last year. Moreover, users can now enjoy free ad-supported apps available for download via the Ovi Store.

Greystripe has put in place an “automated and completely self service web-based portal” for those developers interested in ad enabling their Java/Symbian applications. “Using Greystripe's proprietary technology, developers can upload all of their fully developed mobile app ports, each file supporting an individual phone model, while the ad client is automatically merged with their application. Developers offer their apps for free to consumers and monetize using Greystripe's ad network by displaying pre- and post-roll full-screen ads,” the company concludes.
