Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia and US wireless carrier AT&T announced on Wednesday that Ovi Store by Nokia sported carrier billing from AT&T. The software solutions portal is now available with convenient billing for all AT&T users that own a Nokia E71x, Nokia Surge, Nokia Mural, Nokia 6650, Nokia 6555 or Nokia 6350. At the same time, the duo also revealed that more devices were expected to be included in the list in the near future.

AT&T's customers have now the opportunity to access the Ovi Store and download free or purchased applications from the portal, while being charged for the purchases on their monthly AT&T bill. The owners of one of the aforementioned handsets on AT&T's network can simply visit store.ovi.com from their browser, and they will be prompted to download the Ovi Store application. After the solution is installed on their handset, they can start downloading content, including apps, games, ringtones, productivity tools.

"Nokia is happy to bring the exciting content available through Ovi Store by Nokia to AT&T customers in an easy way with a convenient billing solution," said David Petts, vice president and general manager, AT&T account, Nokia. "Ovi Store provides consumers with mobile content and applications from some of the most recognized developers and publishers from around the world, and we are now thrilled to deliver compelling content to AT&T customers with a payment solution that simplifies access and use."

Ovi Store is the place where any phone user with a Nokia handset can find a great deal of free and paid content, and it features support for a wide range of handsets, the company states. The software portal is already available in over 180 countries on more than 100 Nokia device models, and also features support for 30 languages. The storefront has been launched last year in the US, yet it had no carrier billing support until now, and AT&T is the first US operator to provide this feature.
