Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia has made available for download a new application for its Windows Phone 8 devices, namely YouSendIt.

The application takes advantage of the Near Field Communication (NFC) capabilities built inside the new Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 smartphones and allows users to easily share files.

Unfortunately, the same as other apps that Nokia made available for the Lumia devices, the new software is available exclusively for its own Windows Phone 8 handsets.

YouSendIt also connects to the cloud, and ensures that users have access to their files at all times, regardless of where they are.

“Whether you’re in the office, on-site with a client, at the airport, or working late at night in your kitchen, YouSendIt for Windows Phone 8 ensures you always have the latest version with you,” Nokia notes in the app’s description.

“All your important documents, presentations, photos, videos and more are stored in the cloud so you can always access the latest version.”

With this app, users will be able to send large files from their smartphones without having to rely on email for that. Furthermore, they can also receive files, and can easily track both sent and received content.

Other features of the application include:

- Upload photos and videos from your phone and share the folder with anyone. - Sign contracts, applications, invoices and more from the app then send the signed document back to your contact. - All your files are instantly synced so you can access them later on your desktop, laptop, or tablet.

Weighing 4MB, the YouSendIt application was made available for download through the official Windows Phone Store (at version 1.1.0.1247 at the moment).

Users interested in downloading and installing the app will find it available for download on this page, with support for all Nokia Lumia devices running under Windows Phone 8 or higher.
