Nokia's services get renamed too

A few months ago, Espoo, Finland-based mobile phone maker Nokia announced that it planned on focusing more on the services that it offered to its users, and now we learn that one of these services has seen a major change. Nokia users living in India will see that the Nokia Comes With Music service is now called Ovi Music Unlimited, at least this is what the company's website shows.

It's a common fact that Nokia has lately been in a renaming spree, and that it already changed the naming scheme of its mobile phones, and it seems that some of the company's services will also taste a re-branding. Thus, Comes With Music, the service available in a wide range of markets around the world, appears to have been renamed to Ovi Music Unlimited, and users in India can already access the new brand.

At the same time, the company renamed its Nokia Music Store too, which is now called the Ovi Music Store, a change observed on Thursday. Unfortunately, it seems that there are no exact details on how the changes will affect users, nor on whether the Comes With Music mobile phones are still compatible with the new services. Hopefully, the user experience will remain the same, though we'll have to wait and learn from Nokia itself what the renaming of its services will bring along.

When announcing a greater focus on the services it offers to users, Nokia also pointed towards enhancing the Ovi brand, and the renaming of its offering is something that might have been expected. The company is set to enhance the user experience on its services, and it certainly needs to do so in order to remain competitive on the market. The Ovi Music Unlimited service enables users to download as many songs as they want during their one-year subscription, but they should not forget that “Music can only be downloaded and played on your registered PC and mobile – it cannot be burnt to CD or copied.”
