Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia is reportedly preparing for some big changes within the company, and has summoned its Board of Directors for an impromptu meeting on Wednesday.

No specific info on what will be discussed there has been provided as of now, but Finnish national broadcaster YLE reports that they are preparing to talk about “key decisions on the future of the company.”

With Joe Belfiore, corporate vice president and manager for Windows Phone Program Management at Microsoft, currently visiting Nokia, the meeting could be related to Windows Phone and Nokia’s Lumia devices, WPCentral notes.

Earlier today, Belfiore posted on Twitter a photo of Kevin Shields, SVP of program and product management for Nokia smart devices, in Epoo, Finland, which sustains the above, but the chances that his visit would have something to do with the recently rumored Microsoft acquisition appear slim.

Hopefully, Nokia will provide info on its plans for the future soon, should there be any major change set to be discussed next week.
