Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia has lost two executives in under one week, with its President and CEO, Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, being replaced last week, and with Anssi Vanjoki, head of Mobile Solutions at Nokia, announcing his resignation.

In case there are some of you out of the loop, we should note that Anssi Vanjoki became leader of Nokia's Mobile Solutions unit only recently.

However, it seems that Nokia won't lose him right away, as he will remain in his current position with the company for six more months.

“Nokia announced today that Anssi Vanjoki, Executive Vice President and a member of Nokia Group Executive Board has given notice of resignation from Nokia,” the handset vendor announced in a statement.

“Vanjoki, who currently heads Nokia's Mobile Solutions unit, has six months notice period and he will continue in his current tasks for the time being,” the company continues.

The announcement comes only one day before Nokia World is set to kick off, and that might not be the best thing for Nokia, one should agree.

The leading mobile phone maker has been losing market share lately, while its current performance at the high-end of the market is rather poor.

However, the handset vendor has a new flagship device in store for its users, the Nokia N8, which should land on shelves before the end of the month with Symbian^3 on board, which might change things a little.

“I felt the time has come to seek new opportunities in my life,” Anssi Vanjoki says in a statement.

“At the same time, I am one hundred per cent committed to doing my best for Nokia until my very last working day. I am also really looking forward to this year's Nokia World and sharing news about exciting new devices and solutions.”

The company's CEO, Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, was replaced with Microsoft's Business Division leader, Stephen Elop only last week.

It remains to be seen who will take Anssi Vanjoki's position within the company, but one thing that seems to be shaping up pretty good is that the world's leading handset vendor is about to change radically.
