The latest 3GSM summit in Cannes provided many of the manufacturers with the best opportunity to introduce their latest works in the new generation terminals.

Amongst many other models, Nokia also introduced a 3G smartphone, Nokia 6680, already available in Europe and Asia.

The novelty in this model is the integration of two digital cameras, one of them capable of taking 1.3 megapixel pictures (flash storage included), while the other one is a VGA for video conferencing. The phone can therefore be used for real time video conferencing.

Starting with this model, Nokia kept the promise made to try and integrate more photo camera options; 6680 is the first model enabling brightness and color contrast settings to be performed when making a picture. Nokia now focuses on increasing the megapixels as well as on quality imaging.

The 262.000 color-featured display and the slide design enable facile camera activation.

Like most smartphones, 6680 also features e-mail, calendar, phonebook, video streaming and Internet browser capabilities. Nokia 6680 can also be used as an MP3 player, as the 10 MB may be expanded using one MMC.

Pe besides all these features, the phone also embeds the Nokia XpressPrint technology (PictBridge and other printing methods support).

The users can upload images to a printer using the USB, the Bluetooth technology or the memory card.

The 6680 connectivity capabilities include WCDMA, EDGE and tri-band GSM.

The simpler version is Nokia 6681, to be released in April.
