Select Nokia phones to come with lots of goodies

Nokia and Telenor, a leading global mobile operator, have announced a new collaboration set to fasten the embracing of new Web services for Nokia's Ovi platform. Following the cooperation between the two companies, Telenor's customers from Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Hungary will be able to enjoy, in a simple way, advanced Internet services on their mobile phones.

Starting the next few months, the subscribers of Telenor from the above-mentioned countries will have the chance to buy "specific Nokia handsets" that come pre-loaded with services from both Nokia and Telenor, including: Nokia Maps, Nokia N-Gage, Telenor Mobile TV and Telenor Music Store. In the future, even more cool services will be added.

Talking about the new collaboration with Nokia, Morten Karlsen Soerby, Executive Vice President and Head of Telenor Nordic, said: "Our ambition is to be a leading operator providing new and user-friendly services accessible on mobile devices. The agreement with Nokia is the beginning of an exciting collaboration where we will extensively deploy the capabilities of our high-speed third generation mobile network."

Timo Ihamuotila, Executive Vice President of Sales, Nokia, completed: "We are pleased to announce this cooperation with Telenor and strongly believe that it will lead the way in the Scandinavian market in integrating devices and services together. Headquartered in Fornebu, Norway, Telenor is present in other 11 markets besides its home country, serving a total of about 143 million people. Directly or via various joint-ventures or collaborations, Telenor offers mobile services in: Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Hungary, Serbia, Montenegro, Russia and the CIS, Pakistan, Malaysia, Thailand and Bangladesh.
