An updated flavor of the Nokia Z Launcher application is now available for download for the owners of Android-based devices, namely version 0.21.

The new software iteration arrives only a few weeks after the previous release, which brought along a load of new features, and which also expanded its availability to more users.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the Nokia Z Launcher was made available only for a small number of Android users, as part of a beta testing trial.

However, Nokia decided to expand its availability, and it invited more people to test the app when releasing the previous update a couple of weeks ago.

Over the weekend, the company made a similar move. In addition to making Nokia Z Launcher 0.21 available for testing, it also invited more users to join the trial, a recent tweet from the development team reveals.

Thus, those of you who have already registered for the testing program but have not been invited until now should check their email inboxes to see if they are among those to receive the new batch of invitations.

Users already in the program will enjoy a nice set of new features, enhancements and fixes as part of the new update, it seems. However, the app remains in beta, which means that it still includes a series of issues.

According to the changelog published by MyNokiaBlog, Nokia Z Launcher 0.21 comes with “rooted device” diagnostic log entries, which should help address reports of false positives.

Moreover, the application will now check for software updates on start-up, and will make the same move approximately every 24 hours.

The update also comes with a series of performance optimizations, which will improve its start-up time, as well as the refresh duration.

The new application version also resolves an issue related to losing “Call person” after upgrading, as well as another one for “Text person” not appearing. A series of problems that prevented some people from completing the update / installation have also been patched in this update.

The new app iteration also includes some behavior changes, it seems. Thus, if you scribble “Ca” or “Te,” you will be provided with a list of contacts, apps, or websites starting with “Ca” or “Te,” and not with the list of everyone you “Call” or “Text.”

The new Nokia Z Launcher 0.21 should be already rolling out to those who are enlisted in the beta testing trial. In case you are among them lucky ones, you should check your phones for the update.
