Today, Nokia XL, the largest Android-based smartphone that Nokia has unveiled to the world, has arrived on shelves in a great deal of markets out there.

Made public in February during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, the Nokia XL is now officially available for purchase in APAC and IMEA, with a price tag of €109 ($152) attached to it, before local taxes and subsidies being applied.

This is the third handset smartphone that Nokia has unveiled with Android, featuring a large 5-inch touchscreen display, while being powered by a 1GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor. It also features 768MB of RAM.

Moreover, Nokia XL has been released with a 5-megapixel camera on the back, with flash and video recording capabilities, as well as with a 2MP front camera for making video calls while on the go.

The specs list of this phone also includes a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes, a 2000mAh battery, GPS receiver, and the usual set of connectivity capabilities and sensors, not to mentioned that it also comes with dual-SIM capabilities.

The handset comes to shelves today with the latest version of the Nokia X Platform loaded on top, after the OS has started to arrive on Nokia X devices out there recently.

Nokia XL has been announced in a variety of color options, including Bright Green, Orange, Cyan, Yellow, Black, and White, and will provide users with the possibility to easily load Android applications on it.

“One of the many featured app experiences is Skype: the Nokia XL makes it beautifully simple to make free video calls,” a recent post on Nokia Conversations reads.

“Just log on, select a contact to call, and touch the ‘video’ icon to start the video feed, once connected. The Nokia XL’s front facing camera makes it possible for you to see two windows on-screen – yours, and the person you’re calling.”

However, other appealing apps are also available on this handset, as it arrives on shelves pre-loaded with OneDrive, which offers fast access to files and folders stored in the cloud. BBM, WhatsApp, and other messaging apps are also available for the smartphone.

Additionally, Nokia XL will make it easy for users to switch from an older device, courtesy of the Contacts Transfer app, which will prove a great tool for moving the address book to the new phone.

“Constructed with Nokia’s acclaimed quality and design, the new Nokia XL features a fresh, tile-based home screen, much like the esteemed Lumia line-up. You can personalize it by moving and resizing the tiles, or changing their color,” said blog post also reads.

The popular Fastlane UI from Nokia is also available on the device, only one swipe away, offering users the possibility to switch between their favorite apps in a smooth, in an effortless way.
