Nokia has just released the first Symbian Anna update for Nokia X7 devices, which will upgrade the phone firmware to version 022.014.

In addition, the new update fixes several stability bugs and gives the Application Manager a speed boost.

A few applications have been updated as well, including the Web and Social apps that have been given a sharper and smoother look.

The USB connectivity and Mail for Exchange configuration apps have also been improved visually, but there is no information regarding any new features.

According to the update's change log, Symbian Anna 022.014 also updates the Nokia Browser to version 7.3.1.37.

There's nothing really different in terms of graphics, instead it appears that the only change is the improved kinetic scrolling through pages.

It looks like the update is only available via Nokia Ovi Suite, but it may be pushed OTA (over the air) to all Nokia X7 devices pretty soon.

Introduced this Spring, along with Nokia E6, the X7 was one of the first Nokia smartphones to feature the new and improved Symbian Anna operating system.

Equipped with a single core 680 MHz ARM 11 processor, complemented by a Broadcom BCM2727 graphics processing unit, Nokia X7's price is expected to drop due to Nokia releasing new smartphones powered by 1GHz CPUs.

The handset comes with a large AMOLED 4-inch capacitive touchscreens with 16 million colors support and 360 x 640 pixels resolution.

Nokia X7 packs a standard amount of memory: 256 MB RAM, 1 GB ROM, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 8GB card included).

The device boasts a superior 8-megapixel camera with fixed-focus, dual-LED flash, face detection and video recording capabilities (720p@25fps).

When it comes to connectivity, Nokia X7 is an all-rounder and offers users a wide array of options such as: HSDPA (10.2Mbps) and HSUPA (2.0Mbps) support, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and 3.0 with A2DP connectivity, and GPS with A-GPS.
