Vodafone UK has just introduced a new handset to its offering, the Nokia X3-02 Touch and Type. UK customers can purchase the feature-phone with Pay as you Go for just £90.

Nokia X3-02 is the first Nokia touchscreen mobile phone to use the S40 UI platform. The phone also marks another premier for Nokia, as the X3-02 comes with a 3-row phone keypad, instead of the standard one with four rows.

The quadband (GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900) compatible bar phone comes with a 2.4-inch TFT resistive touchscreen with 262K colors support and 240 x 320 pixels resolution.

It boasts a 5-megapixel camera with video recording capabilities (VGA@15fps), but it lacks any extra features such autofocus and LED flash.

The X3-02 runs on an S40 6th Edition interface, which is the latest UI developed by Nokia. However, the interface has been ported to fit the touchscreen and with the removal of the D-pad, users will have to either use the display to navigate through the menus or the phone's keypad for the corresponding menu.

Other key features of the mobile phone include: HSDPA 10.2 Mbps, HSUPA 2 Mbps, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP support, microUSB 2.0 with On-the-go support, 50 MB of internal memory, microSD card for memory expansion (up to 32GB), as well as Stereo FM radio with RDS.

The device comes bundled with the Opera Mini browser, in addition to the integrated WebKit-based HTML browser. Facebook and Twitter applications are also present, grouped in the Community category, along with Ovi Chat.

Nokia X3-02 Touch and Type is powered by a standard 860 mAh Li-Ion battery which is rated by the manufacturer for up to 408 hours of standby time or 5 hours and 20 minutes (3 hours and 30 minutes for 3G) of talk time.
