Soon, mobile phone users in India might be able to purchase yet another Android-based smartphone that features Nokia’s logo on it, in the form of Nokia X2, the latest reports on the matter suggest.

The mobile phone was made official last month as the first device in the second-generation Android series from the handset vendor, and also as the first smartphone to have been launched by Nokia’s Devices and Services division after being purchase by Microsoft.

The phone comes with a series of upgraded hardware specs inside, as well as with brand-new features, and should be released in India in three different color flavors, including Black, Green and Orange.

Apparently, the first stock of the smartphone has been already imported in India, at least this is what tracking site Zauba has revealed, as recent post on Nokiapoweruser notes.

Last month, Microsoft announced that Nokia X2 would arrive on shelves around the world sometime in July, but no specific info on when that could happen has been provided as of now.

However, it seems that we’re nearing the phone’s official release in this country, which does not come as a surprise at all, since we’re almost halfway through July.

Apparently, the mobile phone could hit shelves in this country with dual-SIM capabilities inside, and might sport a price tag of around Rs. 8,499 ($141/€104) when that happens. The price falls in line with what Microsoft announced for it last month – namely €99 ($135).

For those out of the loop, we should note that Nokia X2 was made official with a 4.3-inch ClearBlack touchscreen display capable of delivering a 800 x 480 pixels resolution, as well as with a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor inside.

Thus, the new mobile phone is both larger and more powerful when compared to the Nokia X that arrived on the market earlier this year.

In fact, the Nokia X2 was also made official with 1GB of RAM, as well as with 4GB of internal memory, and a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

On the back, the phone features a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and HD video recording capabilities, complemented by a VGA front camera.

Nokia X2 arrives on shelves with 3G capabilities inside (HSDPA, 21 Mbps; HSUPA, 5.76 Mbps), Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, GPS receiver, and a Li-Ion 1800nAh battery that can deliver up to 13 hours of talk time, or up to 552 hours of standby time.

On top of all these, Microsoft loaded the so-called Nokia X Platform 2.0, which is based on a forked version of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, and which lacks the usual set of Google applications.
