Announced last week, Nokia X2-01 is now available for Indian customers across the country for as low as 4,459 INR (about $98). The entry-level handset is one of the cheapest to feature a full QWERTY keyboard.

Apparently, the feature-phone has little to no competition in its price range, but for Nokia fans looking to squeeze a little bit more value for money, the C3 which also includes Wi-Fi connectivity, in addition to the full QWERTY keyboard, might be a better option.

Nokia C3 was launched in India in April 2010 and is now purchasable for Rs.5300 (about $116).

Although at first glance the mobile phone may easily be mistaken as a smartphone, the X2-01 should be treated as a simple feature-phone. The device does not run the Symbian operating system and lacks 3G connectivity for higher data transfer speeds.

The X2-01 has a small 2.4-inch TFT display with 262K colors support and 320x240 pixels resolution.

The mobile phone measures 119.4 x 59.8 x 14.3 mm and weighs 107.5g, thus it is perfectly “pocketable” and well balanced. It packs a sub-par VGA camera (max resolution 640 x 480 pixels) with modest video recording capabilities (176 x 144@15fps).

Other key features of the handset include: GPRS/EDGE class 32, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP support, 55 MB, 64 MB RAM, 128 MB ROM, microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 8GB) and Stereo FM radio with RDS.

The phone is powered by a standard Li-Ion 1020 battery rated by the manufacturer for 480 hours of standby or 4 hours and 30 minutes of talk time.

Nokia X2-01 will be available in five colors: black, white, red, pink and blue.

The Finnish manufacturer is expected to launch more low- and mid-entry handsets in the coming weeks, such as Nokia X3-02 “Touch and Type,” Nokia C5-03 and Nokia C6-01, and also the high-end Nokia E7 Symbian^3 smartphone.
