Launched overseas back in February via T-Mobile USA, Nokia X2-01 is about to make its debut in Canada, as well.

The phone is now shown on the Canadian official website of the Finish giant, but no price tag or release date have been disclosed yet.

Furthermore, the handset manufacturer has yet to announce which carrier will pick its Blackberry-esque entry-level feature-phone.

Nokia X2-01 is aimed at youth and social network fans, who wish to stay in touch with their friends while on the go.

The phone allows users to chat with other people across favorite Instant Messaging services, as well as get real-time emails directly to the mobile phone.

The main attraction of the phone is the full portrait QWERTY, which allows users to type messages quick and easy.

The device does not run the Symbian operating system and lacks 3G connectivity for higher data transfer speeds.

Nokia X2-01 has a small 2.4-inch TFT display with 262K colors support and 320x240 pixels resolution.

The mobile phone measures 119.4 x 59.8 x 14.3 mm and weighs 107.5g, thus it is perfectly “pocketable” and well balanced.

It packs a sub-par VGA camera (max resolution 640 x 480 pixels) with modest video recording capabilities.

Other key features of the handset include GPRS/EDGE class 32, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP support, 55 MB, 64 MB RAM, 128 MB ROM, microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 8GB) and Stereo FM radio with RDS.

The phone is powered by a standard Li-Ion 1020 battery which is rated by the manufacturer for 480 hours of standby or 4 hours and 30 minutes of talk time.

Despite the fact that the phone was globally launched in five color schemes (black, white, red, pink and blue), the X2-01 will be available in Canada only in deep grey color. UPDATE: It appears that the handset will be released via Rogers in the next few weeks.

Nokia X2-01 has just made its appearance on Nokia Care Suite confirming that it has been picked by Rogers.
