Unveiled back in February at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014, Nokia X will be officially introduced in Romania on April 8.

Although we don’t have information regarding the phone’s availability and price tag yet, we suspect that the phone will go on sale soon after the official announcement for around €100 ($135).

In fact, the dual-SIM version of Nokia X is already available for purchase in Romania for the price mentioned above, but only through several online retailers.

We will probably know more about the phone’s price and availability at Romanian carriers at the launch event next week, so stay tuned for more on this.

It’s unclear if Nokia will officially bring both single-SIM and dual-SIM versions of Nokia X in Romania, but given the fact that the unlocked variant is already up for grabs through authorized retailers, we don’t think that matters too much.

For those unfamiliar with Nokia X’s specs, here is a quick recap. Nokia X is the first smartphone launched by the Finnish company powered by the Android operating system.

However, keep in mind that the handset does not come with Google’s suite of apps and services, so don’t expect to have Maps or Play store pre-installed on Nokia X.

It is also worth mentioning that Nokia X runs a “forked” version of Android with Fastlane UI on top. This looks more like the Live Tiles UI specific to Windows Phone platform than the standard Android skin.

According to Nokia, the smartphone’s OS is based on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box. As mentioned earlier, you won’t have access to Google Play Store, instead Nokia has added some third-party stores such as Yandex and 1Mobiles.

Nokia Store is included as well, but if you don’t find the software you are looking for, you can easily download and install .apk files from other stores.

Hardware-wise, the Nokia X is equipped with a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Play processor, an Adreno 203 graphics processing unit and only 512MB of RAM.

The smartphone comes with only 4GB of internal memory, but users will be able to further expand storage up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

Nokia X sports a decent 4-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution and 233ppi (pixel density).

The phone is powered by a 1500 mAh Li-Ion battery, which seems rather low for an Android device that will be used pretty often. According to Nokia, the battery should provide up to 400 hours of standby or up to 10 hours of talk time.
