Nokia Vertu, the luxury handset line-up of the Finnish giant, added another limited edition high-priced mobile phone - Ferrari Ascent Ti. This is the second Ferrari-themed device manufactured by Vertu mobile division, after last year's Ferrari 1947, meant to celebrate the car's 60th anniversary.

The new Ferrari Ascent Ti will be available in three colors: Black, Red and Yellow, all with the Ferrari logo embedded. The handset has been manufactured from the same Titanium alloy, forged at 850 degrees, which gives the phone almost infinite sturdiness, but also rather heavy weight (160 grams including battery).

As all the other phones made by Vertu, a sapphire crystal mix protects the screen, camera lens and flash. The battery cover of the phone has been shaped as a Ferrari hood, and the 3D prancing horse emblem has been etched on it. The leather on the upper part of the cover has been inscribed with the Ferrari logo instead of Vertu's, to give it more personalization.

Furthermore, the phone has been gifted with Ferrari themed features such as engine sounds for ringtones and Ferrari themed wallpapers. Other features of the luxurious phone may include: Bluetooth 2.0, microUSB connection, a 3 Megapixel camera with auto-focus and integrated flash, 4GB internal memory, Vertu Fortress Wireless data synchronization service and WorldMate travel application. The official autonomy of its battery estimates five hours for GSM talk time and three hours for WCDMA talk time, while standby time is of around 300 hours.

The quadband (GSM 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100) handset is to be launched until the end of this year. The price hasn't been disclosed yet, but if the 'basic' Ferrari Ascent Ti sells for no less than $6,600, this one should be more expensive.
