Some new feature and tweaks have been added too

The Z Launcher was one of the first software products launched by Nokia after Microsoft acquired the Finnish company's mobile division.

Soon after its release, the application became very popular among Android users and now has more than 100,000 downloads in Google Play Store.

Considering Z Launcher is still in beta, this is quite an achievement since there are many other launchers available in the Google Play store that are older and much more complex than Nokia's product.

But the fiercer the competition, the better the results for Android users. The latest update for Z Launcher Beta promises to bring improvements and some new features that should make the application more competitive on the Android market.

First of all, Nokia confirmed the update should add performance improvements, which translates into reduced time for 'Optimizing Z Launcher' during start-up of the application.

“The more you use it, the better it gets”

Developers have also implemented a new Fast Scroller in the alphabetical Apps list, improved the Scribble handwriting recognition even further.

According to the official changelog, the application will now display Index letter during fast scrolling in order to easily understand how far users have scrolled in the alphabetical Apps list.

Last but not list, the update should offer enhanced icon pack support and lots of bug fixes, which haven't been detailed, though.

If you don't have the application installed yet, you can now download Z Launcher Beta for Android for free via Google Play Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 4.1 and up.

Keep in mind that this is a beta application, so you might encounter bugs and other issues while taking advantage of Z Launcher's features. Also, make sure you visit Nokia's feedback forum and vote on the new features you would like to see being added this year.
