Late last month, Nokia announced the release of its first mobile phone running under Microsoft’s Windows Phone operating system, along with a series of new services attached to it, and some improvements to one of them have been just announced.

The first update for the Nokia Music software installed on the new Nokia Lumia 800 brings along some more personalization features to the application, and also delivers a better Nokia Gigfinder functionality.

The experience that Nokia Lumia owners will enjoy from the Mix Radio on Nokia Music on their handsets has been enhanced, Nokia announced.

“Mix Radio on your Nokia Lumia now allows you to create personalized radio stations. You enter up to three artist names and the clever technology in the background produces a completely new playlist with songs akin to the style of the artists you chose,” a post on Nokia Conversations explains.

“The technology used to create these new stations has indexed 20,000 different artists, so there’s a good chance it’ll know the sort of music you’re looking for. Up to five of these personal radio stations can be saved in the app.”

Moreover, the application has been designed to analyze the metadata attached to user's music files and understand what favorite genders are, so that it would be able to automatically create playlists based on them.

At the same time, there is the new Gigfinder experience that has been improved in the new Nokia Music app on Nokia Lumia 800.

“This starts with your location and today’s date and lists the nearest, soonest gigs happening round you. Where available, you can click through to booking information. You can now also share the gig details with friends using SMS, email or social networks,” the said blog post continues.

Since the first enhancement for the Nokia Lumia 800 arrived on devices only one day after it was launched in Europe, we should expect for some more updates to land on it soon, so stay tuned.
