A new software update is now available for the owners of a Nokia C5-03 mobile phone, bringing the firmware version on the device up to 12.0.023.

Users of the popular touchscreen phone from Nokia should benefit from a range of welcome enhancements with the new update, affecting the device's performance and usability.

For the time being, Nokia did not provide an official changelog for the new firmware, but some unofficial reports on the enhancements included with the update did emerge.

Some of the main enhancements the new software update brings on Nokia C5-03 would include upgraded Maps, along with A-GPS calibration.

These improvements would result in a better experience when it comes to enjoying location services on the handset.

In addition to them, Nokia also provided C5-03 owners with a series of battery improvements in the new software update, along with various other performance enhancements.

The new software update was made available for download both over the air, as well as via the company's desktop applications.

On the handset, users can easily check to see whether the update is available for them through heading to Applications > Software Update, where they would need to select the software they want to update.

The new firmware can be downloaded via the Nokia Software Update (NSU) as well. The download weighs in at only 2825kb.

The Nokia C5-03 comes to the market with support for User Data Preservation (UDP), but it would still prove a great idea to back it up before proceeding with the installation of the new software.

Thus, users will always be sure that no important files on the mobile phone are lost provided that something goes wrong during the installation process.

One thing that should be noted here is that the update might not arrive on all devices at the same time, which means that some users would have to wait a few days or even weeks before it is made available for their handsets.
