A new version of the app brings new maps on Windows 8.1

HERE Maps has received another update on Windows 8.1, as the parent company implemented new content providing a more detailed view of several locations across the world.

The official HERE Twitter account revealed that the new version comes with maps that are “greener than ever and with more woodlands,” but the release notes published in the store do no say anything besides bug fixes and performance improvements.

Surprisingly, some of our computers haven’t received the update yet, so it might take a while before the new content is available on your Windows 8.1 device as well.

The rest of the feature lineup remains unchanged, so you still get options to download maps to your tablet and use them for free without an Internet connection, access dedicated city pages, and use street level imagery on both desktop computers and tablets.

At the same time, the app provides live traffic information, and 3D views for cities and buildings, all in the modern UI of Windows 8.1.

“HERE Maps is a perfect companion for your smartphone. Plan where you want to go and save places so you can find them easily with your phone when you're out and about. HERE. Maps for Life,” the official description of the app reads.

Overall, this update is clearly a good improvement for all users, so download HERE Maps for Windows 8.1 right now to see what's new.
