Nokia, the worldwide leading mobile phone maker, announced today its 5630 XpressMusic, an S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2 phone that comes with both music and multimedia features. The new handset sports a slim design, being only 12mm thick, yet it has dedicated keys for music and video control, a 3.5mm audio jack, as well as a 4GB memory card enabling users to store up to 3000 tracks.

Nokia also packed its innovative voice-controlled ‘Say and Play’ feature with the device, allowing users to switch to an artist or song only by saying the name. The compatibility with the Nokia Music Store provides a simple way to browse and purchase songs from the Store. The Nokia Music for PC software enables users to transfer songs and manage their music collection. According to the company, the new handset will go to select markets as a Comes With Music device.

Nokia 5630 XpressMusic comes with a new enhanced home screen. The Contacts Bar provides direct access to up to 20 of the closest friends or business contacts and also delivers a full communication history for the selected contacts. At the same time, the home screen features a shortcut bar at the bottom, offering quick access to the applications that are used most often, such as music, radio, Web, N-Gage and photos.

N-Gage offers a large catalog of games, as well as a multiplayer feature, in addition to the ability to track progress or to add friends to play against. The new Nokia 5630 XpressMusic includes a wide range of connectivity options, including 3.5G and WLAN. The new handset will come with a 3.2-megapixel camera with dual LED flash, which offers users the possibility to take photos or record videos that can then be uploaded to a favorite online community website, like Share on Ovi, Flickr, or Facebook.

Key features of the new Nokia handset include a 2.2-inch QVGA TFT screen that can deliver a 240 x 320 pixel resolution, quad-band GSM (800/900/1800/1900), dual-band WCDMA (900/2100) with HSDPA, as well as WiFi, USB and Bluetooth connectivity options, an HSUPA device, the first for an S60 phone, microSDHC memory slot with support for up to 16GB of additional storage, and a BL-4CT (860 mAh) battery.

The handset measures 112 x 46 x 12 mm (55 cubic centimeters) and weighs 83g. The mobile phone maker announced that the new Nokia 5630 XpressMusic was expected to become available on select markets starting with the second quarter of the year, at a price tag of around €199 before taxes and subsidies.
