The Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia announced yet another new handset targeted at its select CDMA markets outside the US, the Nokia 8208. The main features of the new device include 3G speed and music capabilities, as well as an elegant, dual–slide form factor, meant to provide users with high-speed, high tech and good looks.

Larry Paulson, Nokia senior vice president, CDMA Devices, stated: “Consumers want devices that are beautiful to look at and reflect their individuality, but also have the functionality that keeps them connected to their world easily. This device echoes our goal to broaden the Nokia portfolio of high tech, yet stylish devices in select global CDMA markets.”

The new Nokia 8208 includes a wide range of entertainment options, starting with its MP3 music player and a 3-megapixel camera. Users will be able to enjoy fast access to their songs via the phone’s dedicated music buttons. In addition, the handset is able to play music for around 20 hours continuously.

The 3-megapixel camera also includes flash, and the 16GB external memory card slot can prove a great solution for storing up both favorite music (almost 4,000 songs in AAC+ and MP3 digital music formats) as well as a great deal of pictures.

The specification list of the handset includes a 2.2-inch display with a 240 x 320 pixel resolution and 16 million colors, the Nokia S40-like UI, GPS capabilities, Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, 3.5mm headset jack, FM Radio, 150MB of internal memory, as well as dual band CDMA / EV-DO connectivity (800 / 1900 MHz).

The phone's battery is able to deliver up to 4 hours of talk time, as well as up to 11 days of standby time. The new Nokia 8208 measures 101 x 45.2 x 15.9 millimeters and weighs 126.3 grams, and it is expected to reach select CDMA markets in the first quarter of 2009.
