If you were wondering how distant in the future the next-generation Lumia smartphones are, there’s an answer for you: they are coming soon.

Nokia’s Chris Weber posted this on Twitter, while the company’s CEO said the same in a recent interview with Reuters.

Rumor has it that the company is planning the release of these smartphones for early September, during the Nokia World conference, which will make it the first handset vendor in the world to unveil Windows Phone 8 handsets.

What remains to be seen is what devices will be launched. Some suggest that we might see some with large screens, 4.5 or 4.65 inches, along with mid-range devices that could sport the same size of Lumia 900.

With nothing officially confirmed, we’ll have to wait for the formal announcement to learn more on these, so stay tuned.
