Each company will provide a set of premium services

Finnish company Nokia has just announced a partnership with major companies the like of Microsoft, HP and Telefonica, to create “an exceptional IT infrastructure and workplace environment.”

According to Nokia, the new infrastructure should be completed during the first quarter of 2017, but the partnership is likely to continue beyond that date since each company provides a set of premium services.

For example, Microsoft will offer access to IT services to the cloud, including Office 365 and Azure. The Redmond-based company will also support Nokia in the adoption of “new social and collaboration capabilities.”

On the other hand, HP will provide Nokia with a wide array of IT services, such as enterprise cloud computing based on HP Helion Managed Private Cloud. The company will also help Nokia with collaboration, connectivity, workplace and other network services.

Last but not least, Telefonica confirmed it would deliver telecom services, including Wide Area Network (WAN) Internet access, and unified communication platform such as fixed voice, video and meeting services.

The new infrastructure will enable next generation development

Nokia states that with the new IT infrastructure that is planned to be completed in early 2017 will facilitate next-generation development, collaboration and service delivery.

The Finnish company also confirmed that its global delivery centers will migrate to a cloud-based architecture using some of the most advanced data center technology.

“This investment will further improve our infrastructure quality and agility. It will simplify the global network solution and provide a much better service experience and connectivity for the users – our employees.

“In partnership with other industry leaders, we have laid a solid foundation to profit from next-generation software and optimize our IT Infrastructure costs. This IT infrastructure renewal is the biggest and most impactful IT program we have initiated over the last years,” said Manfred Immitzer, CIO, Nokia Networks.
