Due to lack of evidence they can't sue the manufacturer

Ever since the Nokir E828 showed up, and it was obvious how much of a N73-clone it was, Nokia was expected to sue the Chinese manufacturer over it.

The reason why Nokia didn't sue was that - according to Chinese copyright-protection laws - they didn't have enough evidence to go against Nokir.

Now the Finish company has adopted a whole new approach and is suing every single shop that is currently selling the Nokir E828 in Hong Kong. The forementioned shops are generally run by 1-2 people and consist of a space which is no bigger than 25 square feet.

All the shops are asked to submit the existing stock as well as pay a HKD 30,000 ($3870) fine for the damage incurred. Reportedly, the shopkeepers don't quite agree with Nokia's decision and have been trying to get in touch with the Finish company. So far, it looks like they've received no reply.

This of course is Nokia's only option to take the Nokir E828 off the market. The handset is a dualband GSM phone that comes with a 2.6 inch QVGA touchscreen, 2 megapixel camera, MP3 and MP4 support and a MicroSD card slot, all that for a $100 price tag. No wonder Nokia is not okay with it, since it looks like the N73, comes with some decent features and costs several times less.

Leaving all this aside, the photo is enough for one to tell how similar (or exactly the same) the two phones are. Unfortunately for those who were considering getting themselves a Nokir E828, it looks that after this, it will be a very hard to find the handset.
