Users of a Nokia mobile phone have now yet another reason to rejoice, as the Nokia Software Updates has just received some Window 7 blessing from the Nokia Beta Labs. It has been pointed out before that some find it rather difficult to update their Nokia phones via a Windows 7 computer, and it seems that the company has listened to the complaints and came up with a version of the Nokia Software Updater that can be used with the newest desktop operating system from Microsoft.

“This release candidate supports Microsoft Windows 7 and improved USB connectivity. This release also includes “What’s New” release notes for the software (only available for some products / languages) to conveniently highlight the improvements and new features for your device. […] Any critical improvements needed will be included in the actual release, while smaller items will be fixed in coming releases. We would like to hear especially if you have any problems with the USB connection and which kind of PC hardware you used,” Nokia Beta Labs notes.

According to the developing team, all improvements that one will see in the new Nokia Software Updater are also set to be included in the Nokia Ovi Suite. This application, as many of you might already know, is aimed at replacing all other software solutions from the company, as it will offer users access to device firmware updates, to contacts, messages, photos and music sync, and other features more. Those who try out the new Nokia Software Updater on their Windows 7 PCs should also consider providing the Nokia Beta Labs with feedback, so that more enhancements will be included in future releases of the application.

According to Nokia Beta Labs, “this beta release of the Nokia Software Updater will not install any pre-release of Nokia device software. If after installing you get a message "No software updates available”, this means there is no new version of Nokia device software currently available for your specific product. Please note that your mobile service provider, operator or carrier may not have approved the latest Nokia device software available.” The developing team also mentions that the updates are delivered for all variants of handsets, for various countries and languages, yet that the firmware solutions might not come to all devices at the same time.

The new beta version of Nokia Software Updater with Windows 7 compatibility is available for download from Softpedia too, via this link.
