Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia has just performed a price cut for many of its Symbian^3-based mobile phones, in an attempt to make them more appealing to end-users.

While some of the company's handsets already registered various price cuts via retailers around the world, it seems that all of them are now available for far less than what was originally asked for them.

For example, the Nokia N8 can be seen at the moment listed on Amazon UK for only £311.06, while Amazon Germany has it available for €320.45, a recent article on UnwiredView notes.

The Symbian^3-powered Nokia C7, the lower-spec’d version of N8, can be seen on Amazon UK at £263.99, while being listed on retailer's German website for €267.84.

The Nokia E6 smartphone, launched only a few months ago with the new Symbian Anna on board and with a touch&type design, is available for £302.38 in the UK, while being listed at €358.45 on Amazon Germany.

The high-end Nokia E7 has suffered a price drop as well, a recent post on the Nokia Blog reads. Currently listed at $429.00 at Amazon, the smartphone was initially launched with a price tag of $679 attached to it.

Previously, Amazon had special offerings on Nokia's devices, bringing their cost down a lot, but it seems that this is the first time that all these new phones suffer significant drops in prices, a recent article on Reuters states.

However, one thing that is certain is that it is not unusual for the company to make such moves. Nokia used to perform various price cuts across its portfolio before, and the recent move would be in line with that policy.

Moreover, since the company is gearing up for moving to Windows Phone 7, it does not come too much as a surprise that they are slashing the cost of Symbian devices, although these are new handsets.
