Nokia Siemens Extends GSM and 3G WCDMA Network

Another profitable contract for Nokia Siemens Networks

Nokia Siemens Networks will extend their GSM and 3G WCDMA network with the Telekom Srbija Mobile branch. The company will also provide all needed associated services for making sure that customers will enjoy them at their full potential.

Nokia Siemens Networks started the deliveries
in July, which allowed Telekom Srbija to expand its mobile broadband network as to fully support the new services. More than 5 million people will have to benefit from the new contract. The deal involves equipment delivery and installation, commissioning and integration of the system, comprising such solutions as a high-speed radio network, next generation mobile core equipment and an extension of the prepaid system.

"We have faith that our cooperation will be even more fruitful in the future and that the merger of Siemens and Nokia will continue to bring us many exciting and industry-leading products and services", says Vladimir Lucic, Telekom Srbija Mobile Division Director.

The agreement presents high potential for Nokia Siemens Networks too. "As a significant regional operator, with expansion potential, Telekom Srbija is one of our key partners. We are very pleased that Telekom Srbija has recognized Nokia Siemens Networks as a reliable partner, ready to offer future-proof technologies completely in line with their long-term plans and fulfilling all their needs", says Dietmar Appeltauer, Head of the Sub-Region Central East Europe of Nokia Siemens Networks.

The company will use the Nokia Flexi Base Station technology. This is the industry's smallest and most efficient multi-technology base station featuring unique design and architecture.

Nokia Siemens Networks is the leader when it comes to providing WCDMA/HSPA services. Until now, it has managed to set base for almost 100 WCDMA radio network references and close to 50 HSDPA references.
The company has attracted almost one hundred million subscribers until now.
