Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia has started to deliver a new software update for the owners of Nokia Lumia 1520 handsets out there, in an attempt to provide them with fixes for some of the bugs recently discovered on the device.

The info comes from Twitter user Nawzil, who also posted a screenshot with the notification that Nokia sent out to Lumia 1520 users to inform them on the availability of the new release.

Following the update, the 6-inch smartphone from Nokia should run under firmware version 8.0.10521.155, which brings along a series of general performance and usability improvements, it seems.

As WMPoweruser notes, users can manually check on the availability of the new software for their devices through going to Settings > Phone Update and hitting the Check for Updates button.

According to the aforementioned notification, the update process should not take longer than 5 or 10 minutes. However, one won’t be able to use the smartphone while the new firmware is being installed.

By the look of it, the new update is indeed coming from Nokia themselves, which means that it includes only enhancements destined specifically for this device. Later this year, the phone should also get a taste of the Windows Phone 8.1 OS, which will be generally available on WP8 handsets.
