Instagram for Windows Phone has made headlines quite a few times in the past several weeks, as many users would like to get a taste of it, but no official commitment for its building has been made as of now.

Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia, the most successful Windows Phone handset vendor at the moment, appears set to have the app on its Lumia devices, and has joined the efforts to convince Instagram’s developers that an app for WP users is indeed needed.

For that, the company made available for download a free application via the Windows Phone Store, called #2InstaWithLove, and aimed at raising awareness on users’ passion for Instagram.

“Many of you have asked when Instagram will be coming to Windows Phone, and the #2InstaWithLove app was created as a way for you to have your voice heard,” Nokia notes in the app’s description in the Windows Phone Store.

“The app allows you to take a photo using the classic polaroid filter and automatically adds the hashtag #2InstaWithLove.”

“It's all about showing Instagram just how passionate the Windows Phone community is - so be creative, have fun and be sure to share your favorite photos with us using a social network of your choice,” the company continues.

Just as the app’s description reads, it should prove a simple to use software for the owners of both Windows Phone 8 and Windows Phone 7.5 devices.

Whether the app will indeed manage to serve its purpose and bring Instagram to Windows Phone, it remains to be seen, yet its presence in the Windows Phone Store clearly shows Nokia’s commitment to bringing as many great features to its Lumia devices as possible.

Recent reports did suggest that Instagram might be launched on Windows Phone at least on Lumia devices, but nothing has been officially confirmed for the time being, so we’ll have to sit tight and wait.
