Nokia has picked AT&T as the exclusive carrier for its Lumia 920 flagship smartphone, but that doesn’t mean that the Finnish company is not open to collaboration with other US-based operators.
In an interview for CNET
, Nokia’s CEO, Stephen Elop said that one of the things his company had learned was that it got better results when taking a product and going exclusive with a particular carrier.
This time, Nokia chose AT&T for the distribution of its Lumia 920
in the United States, but Elop also points out that “there might be another similar hero exercise with a different operator.”
When asked about the company’s plans with other carriers, such as Verizon Wireless, Elop said that Nokia was “planning a lot of exciting things with Verizon as well.”
Nokia has just restarted its collaboration with the Big Red. The companies have teamed up to offer customers the Lumia 820 Windows Phone 8 device. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
