Only at the middle of year 2007 is Nokia thinking a few steps ahead and planning its company structure for next year. The Finnish company is considering a new structure for reaching the most efficient business activity.

As part of this opportunities seeking, three main units will replace Nokia's business group and horizontal group structure. The Devices one will create a competing portfolio for the marketplace. Services and Software will take care of making Nokia's offering of consumer internet services grow and bring enterprise solutions and software. The third unit, Markets, will manage Nokia's supply chains, sales channels and marketing activities. Moreover, they also intend to strengthen the bonds with the CEO through the Chief Development Office.

"We believe this new organization can capitalize on these opportunities while allowing us to increase the effectiveness of our investments and the efficiency of our operations", said Nokia CEO Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo. After all, this is just a long term company effort in order to improve their relations with the customers. Nokia might also want to maintain its current place as the world leader in mobility and strengthen it by reaching new markets.

Moreover, Nokia plans on looking first at what their customers need, just like any good product and service provider should. "Growing consumer demand for rich, mobile experiences creates an opportunity for change. Nokia will bring these capabilities to the broadest range of devices and price points. This unleashes the power of Nokia's device volumes, now coupled with new services and business solutions", Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo further commented.

Nokia has chosen this type of managing company resources in order to increase profits. They hope to bring them increased effectiveness of marketing and product development. What they hope is to manage to better relate to the needs of their costumers in order to offer them best communication solutions from those available.
