Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia has made available for download a new flavor of the PhotoBeamer application for its Windows Phone 8-based Lumia devices, namely version 1.2.0.5.

The new application release arrives on handsets with support for high-resolution photos, which makes it suitable for use on the newly launched Lumia 1020.

Basically, following the update, users will be able to show images captured with their Nokia smartphone on any browser in full HD resolution.

“When you’re beaming with your friends, you want to remember every detail of your precious moments. PhotoBeamer HD will make your memories more vivid,” David Fredh, PhotoBeamer’s lead product manager, says.

According to a recent post on Nokia Conversations, the new app flavor maintains the simplicity that the initial release included, but enhances the overall experience that professionals and photography enthusiasts will enjoy from the it.

“The new app will also be able to automatically detect the best resolution to display the images on the receiving screen to guarantee you pictures look their best,” said blog post explains.

“If it’s a full HD resolution screen, then PhotoBeamer will display the images at full HD; if not, it will run at the maximum quality that the screen allows.”

The new app version should prove a great option for those who will purchase a Nokia Lumia 1020, especially considering the fact that the smartphone comes with a 41-megapixel sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS).

“As well capturing images in more detail and greater sharpness than ever before, you’ll now be able to take your friends closer to the details using PhotoBeamer,” the post continues.

However, the enhancements packed inside the new software release will be visible on other devices out there as well, including Lumia 920 and Lumia 925.

PhotoBeamer has already become one of the most appreciated applications in the Windows Phone Store due to its ease-of-use and speed.

To take advantage of its features, users will simply have to launch the app on their Lumia smartphones and then scan the unique QR code on the PhotoBeamer website in a browser on any desktop computer, laptop, tablet, or Smart TV, which will make all photos automatically appear on the larger screen.

Nokia PhotoBeamer is available for all Windows Phone 8-based Lumia devices and can be seen on this page in the Windows Phone Store.
