Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia has released a new version of its desktop connectivity application, the Nokia Ovi Suite. The application was updated to version 3.0, but is only a beta version at the moment (release 3.0.0.254). The app was released at Nokia Beta Labs where, apparently, it was in alpha testing for the past month or so, and is now available for download for all of those interested in it.

“We have been working hard to improve the quality of Nokia Ovi Suite, for example stability, syncing and the experience with downloading maps,” the guys over at Nokia Beta Labs note.

Among the novelties that Nokia Ovi Suite 3.0 comes with, we can count the reduction of steps required for taking Nokia Ovi Suite in use, in addition to a new Home view, and an integrated music experience with the millions of tracks available on Ovi Music.

Of course, other enhancements were brought to Nokia Ovi Suite 3.0 too, some of which are detailed in the video embedded at the bottom of this article.

The release notes for the new application flavor include:

A new Home view

- Quick access to my content and sync - Recommended apps, games from Ovi Store - Recommended music from Ovi Music - Notifications to update your phone software and to take a backup from your phone - Smart way to connect to the Internet when you're without fixed connection or WLAN

Introducing Ovi Music

- Full playback controls - Discover and download your favourites from the millions of tracks available on Ovi - Drag music to and from your phone - Ovi Music Unlimited support - No need for a separate player

Of course, this si not all when it comes to the new application version, as users would also benefit from a fester and simpler installation, as well as from improved syncing and stability.

According to the development team, users would also enjoy a series of enhancements to the maps view, including single item delete for maps in phone, complemented by performance improvements when it comes to downloading of maps.

As always with beta releases from Nokia, those who will install the new Nokia Ovi Suite 3.0 and try it out should provide feed-back, so that more enhancements and fixes would be included in the future versions of the app.

Nokia Ovi Suite 3.0 Beta is available for download from Softpedia too, via this link.
