After announcing the introduction of new Internet services called Ovi, at the Nokia Go Play event in London, Nokia unveiled 4 new devices optimized to fully take advantage of these services: Nokia N81 and N81 8GB, Nokia N95 8GB, Nokia 5310 XpressMusic and Nokia 5610 XpressMusic. Ovi (Finnish word for "Door") services were born as a consequence of the fact that Nokia changed its focus from the mobile devices to the development of a wide range of Internet services. Ovi, the gateway to Nokia's new Internet services, opens for users that are seeking new ways of entertainment and relaxation.

There's no wonder that the first Ovi services offered are those related to maps, music and games: Nokia Maps, Nokia Music Store and N-Gage games.

Nokia Music Store offers millions of tracks from major artists, independent labels as well as a broad range of local artists from around the world. The store is accessible via a desktop computer or directly from a Nokia device, such as the Nokia N81 or Nokia N95 8GB. What can be more better than being able to carry your whole library of favorite songs in your pocket.

Furthermore, Nokia Music Store offers full track streaming on your PC as well as individual track and album purchase. The recommended price for a song in Europe will be of approximately 1 Euro, while an album should cost you no more than 10 Euros. N-Gage offers an easy way to find, try and buy great games directly from your compatible Nokia device.

The most important aspect of the project is the community part, in which people can play multiplayer games with people from 5-6 different parts of the world, no matter when and where they are. Selecting N-Gage applications on your Nokia device, you can preview available games, connect with your friends, read reviews or download a free demo. Buying games is very easy, either with a credit card or by charging your monthly bill.

Companies like Electronic Arts and Gameloft are making some of their biggest brands available through N-Gage. Ovi should be available for the masses at the end of 2007.
