Today, Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia has announced the upcoming availability of its Lumia 520 and Lumia 720 smartphones on the Indian market.

Both devices are powered by Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 operating system, and both are expected to hit shelves in the country in April, yet specific info on their prices hasn’t been provided as of now.

Made official last month at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the Lumia 520 smartphone will arrive in India in early April in Yellow, Red, Cyan, White and Black.

The handset sports a 4-inch WVGA IPS LCD touchscreen display, along with a 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor inside, paired with 512MB RAM.

Furthermore, the new mobile phone sports 8GB of internal memory, along with a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes, and support for 3G networks in the country.

The smartphone also features WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, along with GPS receiver, a 1430 mAh battery inside, and a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back.

Also unveiled at MWC 2013 last month, Lumia 720 will land in India in Yellow, Red, Cyan, White and Black, and is expected to become available for purchase in the country sometime in mid-April.

The smartphone comes with better specs than Lumia 520, though it sports the same 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU and 512MB RAM.

The Windows Phone 8 device features a 4.3-inch WVGA IPS Clear Black display, while packing a 6.7-megapixel photo snapper on its back, and a 1.3MP camera on the front, to enable video chatting while on the go.

Lumia 720 features the same 8GB of internal memory and a microSD memory card slot as its smaller brother, but is powered by a 2000 mAh battery, which should deliver longer usage time.

The smartphone can also be accessorized with additional cases, some of which will enable users to charge it wirelessly, Unleashthephones notes in a recent article.

Both Lumia 520 and Lumia 720 will arrive on shelves in India with a series of exclusive Nokia apps loaded on them, such as Glam Me, Cinemagraph, Smart Shoot, Nokia Music and more.
