Today, Nokia officially announced the immediate availability in Canada of its third smartphone in the Lumia family, the Nokia Lumia 900.

The smartphone, the new flagship of the family, was released exclusively at Rogers Communications, featuring a price tag of CA$99 (around 75 Euro) with the signing of a three-year contract agreement.

Lumia 900 went live on Rogers’ website yesterday, and also made a successful debut in the United States this weekend, on AT&T’s network.

Just like its US counterpart, the Canadian flavor of Lumia 900 offers LTE connectivity, being the first Windows Phone device from Nokia to feature this capability.

"The launch of the Nokia Lumia 900 in Canada signals our commitment to bringing the best phones into the Canadian market," said Richard White, general manager for Nokia Canada.

"It is impeccably designed with clean lines and a camera that rivals stand-alone digital cameras on the market today. Combine that with the people-first Windows Phone experience and the Rogers' LTE network - and it's clear that this phone delivers an unsurpassed mobile experience."

The hardware specs list of this device includes a large 4.3-inch AMOLED ClearBlack touchscreen display, along with a 1.4GHz application processor and 16GB of internal memory.

Moreover, the smartphone comes with an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, a 1-megapixel front-facing camera for video calling, and an 1830 mAH battery.

“The Nokia Lumia 900 also comes equipped with signature Lumia experiences, such as Nokia Drive, which delivers a full-fledged personal navigation device (PND) with free, turn-by-turn navigation and dedicated in-car-user-interface,” the Finnish mobile phone maker notes.

“Available from Marketplace is the Nokia Maps app, which provides quick access to maps of more than 190 countries worldwide.”

Nokia announced three color flavors of Lumia 900, namely Black, Cyan and White, but only the black version is available for purchase at the moment at Rogers. More info can be found on the carrier's website.
