At the beginning of the week, everybody got excited over the release of Nokia 8600 Luna. Still, Nokia has announced the official release for this phone model only today.

Nokia has been taunting their mobile phone customers with the Luna mystery handset for some time now. It could only be great news that the phone has been made available for purchase from the start of this week at the Carphone store for an exclusive six week contract.

Disregarding that, Nokia thought that it was time for an official release only today. They took pride in telling about the stylish design, the precise, smooth details and especially about the nearly opaque smoked glass case.

"We took painstaking effort to ensure that the experience delivered by every surface - from the smoothness of glass against the face to the warmth of stainless steel in the palm to the superior tactile feedback of the keypad - would surpass any and all expectations", said Heikki Norta, Senior Vice President at Nokia. It looks like the company really put some passion into this, which can only be good news for those that intend on buying such a phone model.

Nokia Luna has even more to offer past the elegant, eye catching design. It comes with a 2 megapixel camera that is capable of taking high quality pictures and also of recording. Moreover, it has an integrated MP3 player with a built-in FM radio. Nokia has made no specifications when it comes to internal memory. This proves highly disappointing for those that have shown concerns until now about the memory that Nokia 8600 will come for. Even more, rumors say that this handset lacks a memory expansion slot, which is a major drawback.

Nokia 8600 Luna will be available for an estimate price of 700 euros without taxes and subsidies.
